Short definitions used across WinningHunter docs.
Authentication & security
API Key
A unique string that identifies your requests. Treat it like a password. Prefer Clé X-API.
Bearer Token
Your API key sent as Authorization: Bearer <key> — an accepted alternative to Clé X-API.
Regeneration
Creating a new API key and immediately invalidating the old one (from /api).
Networking & performance
Endpoint
A specific URL where the API can be called (e.g. /api/v1/tiktok-shop/products/explore).
HTTP Status Codes
Three-digit response codes (200, 401, 429, …) that indicate outcome. Always branch on status first.
Rate Limiting
A cap on how many requests you can make in a window (here: 60 / rolling minute).
Rolling Window
The rate-limit window is “the last 60 seconds from now,” not a fixed clock minute.
Exponential Backoff
Increasing wait time between retries after errors (1s → 2s → 4s …).
Jitter
A small random delay added to backoff so many clients don’t retry in lockstep.
Data & pagination
JSON
The request/response body format for the metered API.
Payload
The data in a request or response body.
Pagination
Splitting large result sets into pages (or cursor/scroll tokens on some surfaces).
Cursor / scroll token
An opaque pointer from a previous response used to fetch the next page.
Schema
The expected shape and types of a JSON object for an endpoint.
WinningHunter specifics
Credits
Monthly quota for metered API/MCP calls. Successful calls usually cost 1 credit.
API access
Product entitlement that allows programmatic HTTP and MCP calls with an API key (Basic plan or higher).
MCP
Model Context Protocol — expose WinningHunter as tools inside Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and similar clients.
